Mission
Every human uses their senses to test assumptions and reach conclusions, but not everyone is trained to test assumptions thoroughly. At NTARI we're developing the Citizen Research Project to help libraries and like institutions train the public in the scientific method and experience the rigors of scientific discussion.
Vision
Research Projects provide grants for libraries, community centers, observatories and other local institutions to train the public in the scientific method. The resulting media-- text, photo, video, audio or VR/AR-- will be posted for discussion in NTARI's Journal of Citizen Science and Working Memory
Inspiration
It is difficult to establish trust without relying on a trusted central powers when many parties with competing interests are involved. Leslie Lamport's "The Byzantine General's Problem" was central to the development of crypto currency as it solved the problem of central authority issuing public notes of exchange.
By applying the principles of Byzantium Fault Tolerance to public scientific discussions, NTARI hopes to create a database that can be referenced, discussed, proven and developed by the general human public.
